Skinny Is Out: Spread The Message To Anorexics The World Over
Spread the word around, its ok to be a 'medium' and 'large'. No longer do you have to be obsessed about being small and extra small. Skinny is out and healthy is in!
More and more people, especially young girls are becoming anorexic and suffering from all types of eating disorders. This is because we live in world that dictates beauty and acceptance by body type. Only if you are skinny and waif-like will you be accepted into society. This is a problem that is becoming evident the world over.
People with eating disorders like anorexia know there is something wrong with them and they hide from social gatherings. You will notice that they will not eat in public and will hide their almost disappearing frame behind loose and baggy clothes.
Most anorexics are in denial about their eating problems. And when their eating problem is discovered, most will deny treatment. Most will claim that this is not a disorder but a lifestyle choice and one that is healthy. But is it really healthy? And is this going to stop? Not with so many websites promoting anorexia and making it look glamorous and appealing are just springing up everywhere on the Internet. Anorexia is not a disorder than can be easily subdued. The pull that this disorder has over a person is almost paralyzing. Once a person is anorexic, it is almost impossible for that person to get back to a state of normalcy after having a brush with anorexia. Once an anorexic, always an anorexic. Anorexia is a disorder or a disease that can seriously harm a person's health. In some severe cases, it can also be fatal. It harms vital organs and hampers the normal functioning of the body. Some of the damage to organs can be permanent and irreversible. Like it has been said before, effects of anorexia nervosa can be fatal. If you notice a friend or family member suffering from anorexia, or you notice anorexia nervosa symptoms in that person, like eating problems, severe weight loss, lack of self-esteem, and low body image, you need to help this person or get help for this person. You could actually be saving their life and preventing them from being victims of anorexia. There are support systems like The National Eating Disorder Association that have been set up to help people who suffer from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and other eating disorders. These organizations have some simple steps that can be followed with the person suffering from anorexia.
